SET APART

Seeking...Serving...Growing

   "Set Apart" is a missions/discipleship program for young people who have a desire to seek Gods direction in their lives, a desire to serve God in a mission opportunity, and a desire to grow in their relationship with Christ.

     Students wishing to be involved with “Set Apart”:

Need to be between 18 and 25 years of age. 

Be a high school or home school graduate.

Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Have a desire to seek God in a place with few distractions. 

Have a heart to serve God.

Have a desire to grow spiritually.

Be able to perform the tasks of the missions work.

2008 Set Apart Calendar

Summer Session: June 11- Aug 5

Fall Semester: August 12 – December 19

     Bible Curriculum:  The student curriculum will focus on the ways we are “set apart” by God in our daily lives, and for  service to Him.  This is not a theological study but a personal time in the word that looks at how we can become more like Christ.  We will also be discussing one of our primary purposes as Christians and of this ministry...glorifying God. 

     Serving the Lord at the Braes:  During their time at the Braes these students will help with the daily tasks of operating a small Christian camp and retreat center.  Tasks will include:

Maintenance:

Activities

Office Assistance

     The overall service commitment of each student will average about 30 hours per week. 

     Local Church Service Help: Part of the Braes ministry is to reach out to our local community.  We do this through our summer camping program.  This program is partially made possible through local churches that provide financial support as well as help to get the kids out to camp.  We would like to be supportive of them as well.  During each semester there will be some service projects we will do to help these local churches, so we can be a blessing to them as they have been to us. 

     General Information: The Braes will provide all of the students basic living needs including housing, utilities, and meals.  The students will live at the Braes during the semester.  They will learn to be a family of their own, and will be involved in taking care of each other. 

     There are no costs to the students, in fact they will be given a small stipend every other week to provide some spending money. 

Summer Session

     The Braes will also be offering a shorter eight week program from June 11 — August 5, 2008.  There will be four weeks of intensive discipleship followed by four weeks of summer camp.  This session is a great chance for a young person who is considering coming for a regular semester, to look over the program.
