Hiking at High Braes
Enjoy a chance to take a relaxing walk or if you prefer a vigorous hike. There is nearly three miles of trials on the Braes property. The trails range from one lane dirt roads which are easier to walk to marked hiking trails that work their way through 350 acres of land.

The River Trails are mostly flat and work their way along the banks for the East Branch of the Salmon River. Come across the road and take the steep walk up past "Fisherman Watch" to the south side of the Manor House.
Follow the red trail through the woods to the Fire Place Trail. At the end you will find the original fireplace of "Wills Cabin," the first get-away spot where John Davidson along with family and friends would spend many nights for hunting and fishing recreation.
Continue to follow the red trail out along the ridge overlooking Stony Brook all the way to the upper falls. Take a break and enjoy the view and the solitude of this area a mile bake into the property.
There are connecting trails that join the red trial to the road and to the Family Camp Ground which is in the center of the property.
If staying on pavement is your idea of a good walk, the roads to the Braes and in the surrounding area are usually quiet with very little traffic.
