Chapel
Here's an interesting story. This country chapel was originally located twenty seven miles away from the Braes in the town of Parish. It use to be the Methodist-Protestant Church of Parish Center. In 1976 Ron Hodge was looking for a bell to be able to summon the youth visiting the Braes to meals and services. When he inquired about the bell, located in the abandoned church, he was told he could have the whole building...for a dollar. The decision was made to move the chapel, piece by piece to the Braes and rebuild it.
Today the chapel sits about two hundred feet from the Manor House tucked away between a grove of pines and the woods. It's available year round for worship services and meetings. This small country chapel is about 700 square feet in size and will sit between 50-60 people comfortably in cushioned pews. There is a pellet stove in the corner that provides even heat to make it comfortable in the cool seasons.
